What to include in a cleaning quote request for a London property
A useful cleaning quotation starts with a clear description of the property and the result you need. “Two bedrooms” helps, but it does not explain the condition, whether the property is furnished or which appliances need attention. Sending the details below makes it easier to agree the scope before booking professional cleaning services in London.
1. Explain the purpose of the clean
Say whether you need an end-of-tenancy clean, a deep clean, regular cleaning, office cleaning or cleaning after building work. Include the preferred date and any fixed deadline. For a move-out clean, explain when the property will be empty and when keys need to be returned. For an office, describe the rooms in use and the hours when cleaning can take place.
If you are comparing quotations, give each company the same information. A price for floors and surfaces cannot be compared fairly with a quotation that also includes appliance interiors, internal windows and carpet cleaning.
2. Describe the rooms and the current condition
Provide the full postcode, the number of bedrooms, bathrooms and separate toilets, and any additional rooms. Mention stairs, utility rooms, large living areas and unusually large kitchens. Tell the team whether furniture and personal belongings will remain in place.
Describe heavy grease, limescale, pet hair, building dust or areas needing particular attention. Photographs should include a wide view of each room and close-ups of the main problem areas. Remove paperwork, faces and other private details from the pictures before sending them.
3. List appliances and extras separately
Ask whether the quotation includes the oven, hob, extractor, fridge, freezer, cupboards and internal windows. Describe the oven size and any second oven. State whether cupboards will be empty. If you need carpet or upholstery cleaning, give the number of rooms or items and explain any visible staining.
Do not assume that an outside patio, high windows or specialist treatment is included in a general clean. Mention these requests early so the team can confirm whether they can be included, quoted separately or require a different service.
4. Explain access and practical arrangements
Include the floor level, lift availability, parking restrictions and any key collection arrangements. Confirm that water and electricity will be available. Explain whether someone will meet the cleaners or whether access needs to be coordinated with an agent.
For regular cleaning, state the preferred frequency and your main priorities. If you want the first appointment to tackle built-up dirt, make that clear: an initial deep clean and an ongoing maintenance visit may need different scopes.
5. Agree what completion will look like
Before booking, ask for the agreed tasks, exclusions, known charges and arrival arrangements in writing. Explain who will check the work and how any questions should be raised. A written checklist helps everyone assess the same result without relying on assumptions.
